Research revealed that revenue from mobile casino gambling is expected to go up over 15 percent this year—from its previous $33.2 billion profit to as high as $38.4 billion.

With the trend of consumer behaviour now, it is also not surprising software companies continue to create better mobile gaming to meet consumer’s demands. Over the years, they have expanded to casino games, lottery, sports betting, horseracing and other mobile games.

Ladbrokes is no exception. During the first quarter of 2011, they have seen 18 percent of its customers betting with their mobiles. First quarter revenues from mobile services for 2011 were up 786% compared to Q1 2010.

In 2010, they generated an income of £5.7 million from their mobile sports book activities alone—a giant leap from the meagre £3.2 million increase in 2009. They are expecting more of their online sports betting to go mobile in the next years to come.

Aside from this, Ladbrokes reported that 11% of digital new player sign-ups were made through mobiles in Q1 2011. Ladbrokes are predicting that 25% to 33% of its betting activity will be based on mobiles by 2 to 3 years.

This positive outcome for mobile betting demonstrates two essential things: that the mobile content industry is resilient as a whole and that there are still a lot of untapped opportunities in this sector.

Indeed, while land based casinos everywhere struggled to pay off billions of dollars in debt, the mobile gaming industry continue to soar and change the way people play the game.
